how ??? story of a shoe - a short film

How it was made real :Story of a Shoe

... exam time ... as there is no big difference for me ... i was surfing through cetlylive when the post for the short film competiton being conducted by the CITS came to my notice ..!!

i got much excited and read it with great curiosity ... and as there were not much hard restrictions or instructions to follow .. i decided to go on! ...

just as i completed the post ... i was having the title of the film ... " story of a shoe " ...

i dont know how or why it came to my mind ... it just CAME!

started to think more on it and i made this idea reach nishad and ameen ,my classmates...

of course and obvious that i got great response and enthusiasm as i expected from them!!.. after a long chat with Ameen on the phone ... i was struck by the harder side ... that we got only 5 days to complete the film ...

the last date being 13th of september ... we had to rush!

waited for the exams to end ...

but the next day after the series exam was a hartal! ...hence no college ... no work in progress!

but with no less hope ... we had our first shot on wednesday (8th sept.) ...

9 am : we took our first step by designing the smiley for the shoes ... thanks to Nishad Aiswarya and Greeshma ... :)

scene : meeting the girl shoe

time : 12 50 pm

location : behind ec block

on screen : Vysakh.A.R,Priyank.P,Sajeesh C.A,Rahuj Raj V,Amrutha Mohan,Greeshma.M

off screen : Muhammed Ameen(camera)

no. of shots : 12

and this turned out to be my favourite shot ! :)

that afternoon itself we got the lecture, exam, tank, bathroom and the 'chali' scene...

next day... got the college entering, class entering and the step scenes

also big thanks to Prageeth for helping out to take the class entering shot ... though he had to sit like a frog through out the scene ... !

thanks to Ameen for helping behind the camera!

...friday : got the canteen and finally the bubble gum scene ..!

12 shots taken to get the bubble scene ...

thanks to Nafid ,Niresh and Nishad for chewing it !! :P

With only two days left ...!!

and i was still searching for the lecture class sound (professor's voice) ...

and for my luck.. i met the perfect guy !! Muneer....

called him and explained what was in my mind ...

in just 10 minutes i got a mail from him ... 'bingo ...!! i got the professor's voice!! ' nice one ... really thankful to you dear ...

then again

was in need of some songs and sounds(ringing bell) ...

in no time Nishad solved it all .. !! yippee ...

now just my work was left ...

on saturday night ... edited and arranged it till 3 45 am ...

next day had to get the 'evening at home' scene ... Nishad came home to help me out ... !

got that scene too !!... again started working on the editing by evening...

completed by 4 am !! ...

havooooo ....!! wat a relief !! ...

next day was the last date for submission...

so went to college ...

but then came to know that the last date has been changed to 20th sept. !

:(

then just waited for 1 week ... and submitted ! :)

thanks to ece2 ..for the support !

What we convey through this!

the shoe , as the title says is the hero here ..!

what if the shoe had feelings? what if its also a living thing ? ...
though in this film we dont show the feelings of the shoe .. instead
we are leaving an open oppurtunity for the viewers to bend it their ways !
we present some situations of the shoe in real life ...
am sure about ... that you will have a great and different experience
after seeing this short film from the shoe's point of view!

the smiley on the shoe symbolises that the shoe never complaints, through however
tough or bad conditions it had to move...
and the "story"of the shoe is the same all its life ... just repeatition of its past.
"and this smile continues.."
simply reminds the viewers that the story continues for the shoe
just as any other day ...
and it will never complain till its last move !
